This is the classic and highly popular variety that forms a solid head with a crunchy texture. The compact, medium-sized heads are made up of light green to white inner leaves with a mild flavour. The outer leaves are medium green and crinkled. For the best flavour and development of firm heads, time crops to mature during cool weather. Sow again in later summer for a fall crop.

Direct-sow seeds where plants are to mature several weeks before the last expected frost date since lettuces like cool conditions. Choose a sunny site with good drainage. After a spring harvest, sow again in late summer for a fall harvest.
