Chervil grows 12in -18in (30cm-45cm) tall and produces fine, light green leaves that are very aromatic. Leaves are used to add their delicious, mild, anise-like flavour to meat dishes, omelets, sauces and salads, and are a classic ingredient in French cuisine.

Direct-sow seed several weeks before the last spring frost date as seedlings are hardy and they resent transplanting. Choose a sunny location and a fertile soil that drains well. Plants tolerate crowding and are suitable for growing in containers.
