Sage is an easy to grow herb producing attractive flowers and flavourful leaves that are pebbly textured and usually grey-green. Use leaves for stuffing, meat dishes, stews, chowders and cheeses. A fragrant, slightly bitter herb.

Choose a sunny location and a fertile soil that drains well. Direct sow seed after frost danger in spring or start seed 8 weeks before outdoor planting. Improve clay or sandy soils with compost.
