Pumpkins love hot weather. They need soil that is deep, rich, well-drained and organic with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5. Before planting work in lots of compost.
This immense variety is often a prizewinner in pumpkin contests. When properly nurtured, an individual fruit can exceed 100lb/45kg. Fruits have pink-orange, ribbed, and very thick skin. The flesh is yellow-orange, intensely flavoured and fine for pies and cooking. Seeds inside the plant make a delicious nutritious snack.
