Seed can be direct-sown 6 weeks before outdoor planting after frost danger in spring, or start seed indoors 6 weeks before outdoor planting to obtain healthy transplants. Sow again in late summer for plants to overwinter and bloom extra early the following spring. Choose a sunny location and a fertile soil that drains well.
