Jalapenos are noted for their zesty hot flavour widely used in Mexican cuisine. The blunt pointed, thick-walled fruits grow about 3in (7.5cm) long, and have a deep green colour maturing to red. An eye-watering addition to salsa, salads, dips and great for pickling. Harvest regularly.
