Few plants rival delphiniums for providing a bold display of tall flowers with a strong vertical accent. Flower colours are mostly blue, white, pink, lavender and purple. Use in groups in the background, as an accent, and for cut flowers during early summer; re-blooms in fall.

Start seed indoors 10 weeks before outdoor planting after all danger of spring frost to obtain healthy transplants, or in late summer for early flowering in the following spring. Choose a sunny location with good drainage. Protect from wind and provide support for flower stalks.
