When Bugs Bunny thinks of carrots, he probably thinks of this variety. Here’s a standard market carrot that has a long, tapered shape. It is a rich orange colour and is sweet and delicious. Rich in food value, it has a variety of uses and stores well. Does best in deep, well-worked soil.

As seed is so small, mix with some sand when sowing. Keep the seedbed evenly moist during the 3-week germination period. Thin seedlings. Harvest any time after the carrot roots develop good colour. Succession plantings can be made every 2-3 weeks.
