This deep red variety is a heavy producer of tasty round heads. Vigorous plants are easy to grow, but should be timed so heads mature in cool weather. Makes a stunning addition to salads and holds its excellent flavour when cooked.

Either direct-seed into their permanent positions several weeks before the last spring frost date, or start seed indoors six weeks before planting outdoor to obtain healthy transplants. Choose a sunny location and a fertile soil with good drainage.
