Comparatively dwarf, this variety becomes well covered with firm, miniature cabbage-like sprouts on 24in (60cm) stems, maturing relatively early, allowing much leniency in planting times. After steaming, try tossing these little gems with a pat of butter, a squirt of lemon and roasted pecans for a real taste experience. Flavour is improved by significant fall frosts.

When summers are cool, either direct seed into permanent positions several weeks before the last spring frost date, or start seed indoors to obtain healthy transplants which can be set out into the garden as late as early summer to mature in fall. Choose a sunny location and a fertile soil that drains well.
