Enjoy tender sweet 10cm (4in) pods fresh as well as in stir-fries and salads. Sturdy plants grow to 120cm (48in) tall, so staking is recommended. Best to pick pods while peas inside them are still small. Good freezing pea as well. Matures in 65-70 days.

In a sunny site with fertile, well worked organic soil, sow seeds in successive crops every two weeks from early April to mid-May as long as weather remains cool. A late summer/fall crop is possible in some areas. Seed typically sprouts in 7 to 14 days. Keep plants evenly watered for best quality pods. As pods mature, pick daily to encourage continued production. Avoid using high nitrogen fertilizer. The large white flowers are quite ornamental.
